Fish River Canyon & the South
Quiver trees, Fish River Canyon, Lüderitz, and the ghost town of Kolmanskop.
Southern Namibia is desert, canyon, and coast. This route covers Keetmanshoop, the Quiver Tree Forest, Fish River Canyon (viewpoints and optional multi-day hike), then Lüderitz and Kolmanskop.
Why go Fish River Canyon is one of Africa’s great landscapes. The canyon hike (May–September) is a multi-day trek; otherwise enjoy the viewpoints at Hobas. Lüderitz is a time-warp town; Kolmanskop is the famous diamond ghost town.
What to do Book Kolmanskop tours in advance. Canyon hike requires a minimum group and fitness. Ai-Ais hot springs mark the end of the hike.
